Nutrition & Weight Management

It is estimated that over 40% of Australian pets are overweight.  Obesity reduces the lifespan of your pet and has direct links to health issues such as:

  • Type 2 Diabetes

  • Heart Disease

  • Kidney Disease

  • Various forms of Cancer

In addition, obesity can affect your pets' wellbeing as it impacts their ability to play and enjoy walks due to their weight issues.

Signs that your pet may be overweight are:

  • Ribs cannot be easily felt

  • No obvious waist

  • Rounding of abdomen

  • Slow movement

  • Shortness of Breath

  • Reluctance to play or exercise

If you are struggling with your pets weight or need nutrition advice, we can help you. Our nurses offer a free weight consultation service that can help you keep your pet on track.
